A leader must be willing to move ahead and commit himself to the truth regardless of the people’s inclinations. That’s exactly what Joshua did with the Israelites. To call out stumbling blocks is necessary. As individuals we must be willing to address whatever gets in our way of serving and worshipping the King of Kings as well. Stumbling blocks can come in the form of addictions, bad patterns, the lack of attention to important tasks and a lot more.
14 “Therefore, fear the LORD and worship Him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship Yahweh.

Joshua’s direction to the Israelites was clear – worship God only. Why? Because He alone is worthy, nothing else. NOTHING ELSE.
When we look at the 35 Puritans who risked all to board the Mayflower and come to America to worship and serve God unrestrained we are inspired to do as we should, to do the same in our own lives. To ignore our comfort and serve Him. However, it doesn’t stop with our own lives but also extends to the nation we were given by God.
